Study Can Save The World!

I first wrote this piece in 1992 (almost 20 years ago, well ahead of the pack). It made a profound impact with one radio station in Monte Carlo, where I was living at the time. Apart from adding one sentence about electronic toys, which were barely on the horizon at the time, it’s pretty much as I wrote it.

Imagine being asked how you would save the world; what answer would you give? How could you justify it? For the sake of this discussion, it might be simply said that the only thing really wrong with our world is Man and his insane depredations, which threaten both him and the ecosystem on which he depends.

We are therefore talking about a way to limit or prevent human madness from manifesting its extreme destructive potential, or better still, eliminating it altogether, so that we collectively and individually think rationally and come up with survival strategies, that are supportive and empowering decisions which enhance and nurture our civilizations, instead of blighting and destroying them or the planet.

Suppose you were limited to just one approach to the challenge and nothing more; you had to decide upon a  course of action that you could foresee would, taken to its ultimate conclusion, free the world of all its misery and ills, so that wars, disease, poverty, injustice and strife became a thing of the past.

Do you think it is even possible to come up with such a comprehensive plan of action? Should we try – or are there very good reasons to leave things as they are and let history take its course?

If it is agreed we should make this gallant attempt, what factors would you try to eradicate or change? What positive qualities would you try to introduce? People have had many ideas of this kind in the past, which sadly haven’t worked. So in this line of questioning we would have to be sure we knew how these failures had come about and how to conquer the factors that had caused all those worthy earlier efforts to fail.

Super-Intelligent

You are looking at the author’s answers to these musings. It is his belief expressed that taking the subject of knowledge and learning to its ultimate conclusion, that we would create a race of super-intelligent individuals, who could learn for themselves what the factors are which blight and handicap our lives here on Earth.

Such a race of people would be able to think freely and comprehensively and we would not have the nonsense of short-term solutions impinging on the long-term survival of this planet. Insane or destructive answers would no longer be part of the mental patterns of a people who knew the value of truth and how to discriminate it from attractive but specious activities, which led nowhere.

Study and learning could heal the world!

My Healing River of Knowledge has been created and offered in the fervent hope that, given the tools, there are many millions of willing and able people who will help get the show on the road. This study system is how we go about establishing the truth. I am confident that what we need to know is readily accessible, if approached the right way. Indeed, mush knowledge that is workable is already in full view. But most people don’t know how to recognize it, because they have not been taught how to learn; that is, how to identify, check, align and integrate valuable truth from the mountain of lies which overrides it.

Consider the reverse case. If you wanted to enslave a society and drive them mad, how would you do it? Well obviously, you would not want them to really understand what was happening, otherwise they might rebel. So you have to ban knowledge and education of all kinds.

Moreover, you would have to prevent these slaves from being able to figure out for themselves what was going on; you would need to be sure they could not learn. It must be made a serious crime to show anyone how to study effectively!

Then you would need to feed them suitable lies and be sure they accepted them as fact – comforting pap falsehoods that explained their inferior status in some bogus way, so that they came to accept that life was simply how they were told it was and not seek for any alternative explanation.

Very important too would be the need to be sure that they could not discriminate between valuable and worthless knowledge, so that if by some chance (despite your every endeavour), a body of knowledge arose which could make them free and overthrow your despotic leadership, that the populace would be virtually unable to recognize its superior worth; they must be trapped into believing that all new knowledge is dangerous or misleading.

Only your education system counts; alternatives are not permitted. Ideally, you would train everyone to operate with false language, a kind of propaganda newspeak, which defined their condition as something desirable and fulfilling, but used confusing or meaningless words, in association with anything which might lead them to want freedom.

In the manner of Huxley’s Brave New World you would teach your society that truth means lies; freedom means slavery; good means bad and so on. This would have the dual advantage of not only pointing them in the wrong direction for what they are really seeking but also to foul up comprehension of what the true concepts were.

Better yet, you would forbid words which had any unwanted connotations, such as freedom, dignity, truth or learning. These should be banned from the dictionary. In this way, individuals in your slave society would be unable to speak about or form any meaningful concepts for such important but radical and dangerous beliefs as these!

But you would need to be very careful. Strict control would be essential because somehow, at some deeper level, people would be uneasy and feel they were missing something vital. You would need ruthless policing and oppressive laws, so that the least sign of radical disturbance could be stamped out forthwith.

If a truth movement gained momentum, even to a slight degree, there would be a rapid explosion, as individuals frustrated by being told lies and denied access to the truth would rapidly become violent.

Dope ‘Em

Once suppressed, so that the natural avenue of enquiry was closed, you would hope your people turned to the solace of drugs, sex and hypnotic music, to take they mind of the important issue of knowing they were being controlled by you. You would give them access to mind-numbing electronic toys, which would take their mind off any social conditions and amuse them, so that social unrest could not become a force.

In fact you would get a society remarkably like that of the present-day USA and many other countries. If you look around, the depressing scenario I have just painted is already with us to a large degree. We can see from the tabloid and television headlines that the world is declining in many respects, particularly issues of personal safety and freedom, yet we don’t know what to do.

We are threatened by unstable economies mis-managed by stupid governments; Big Business recklessly squanders the Earth’s resources that we shall need for our future survival; narrow and extreme political and religious causes threated world peace with their violent and destructive attempts to force others to think as they do; crime has rocketed to the point where we find that even politician’s, banks and other institutions seem to be involved in scams and rackets; the average public individuals are being fleeced of their hard earned cash, without any apparent return on the unwilling  investment; men and women get rich and superrich without working, manipulating currency in ways which are unreal and destined to hurt nations and individuals within those nations.

You might even be forgiven for thinking that possibly all this is deliberate; that some kind of mad One World control group, which wanted to dominate the planet for its own sick aims, was already working on a strategy like the one outlined and getting on very well with it (incidentally, if there is such a group, you will know, because this author will find himself threatened by all kinds of trouble by virtue of the promise of freedom from such control implicit within this text).

Whether intentional or otherwise, no-one seems to really know what to do. The true state of affairs is disguised or minimized by the cant of wily politicians, whose main interest is self-serving and nothing to do with their true role, which is to serve society and make it better and more prosperous.

Real knowledge is regarded as a very dangerous commodity just now. So dangerous, that writers can get themselves shot. Wanting to tell the truth may well earn you what has been called “censorship by the bullet”.

I myself wrote a book some years ago that contained sensitive knowledge that was considered dangerous and I was warned by those who know about these things that my own government might try to kill me.  I was advised to compose a number of copies of the manuscript and the evidence for what I was saying and lodge them in bank vaults all over Europe, to be opened in the event of my death and then announce the fact I had done so widely to the media. Whether this strategem successfully saved my life, I shall never know but there were many instances of phone tapping noises, strange police “investigations” and very unreal social events in the environment about me. I was highly relieved when the book was finally published and reached the newsstands (The Poisoned Tree, with Kevin Taylor, Sidgwick, 1990).

This urgent desire of the upper hierarchy to suppress truth should make it all the more valuable. You should treat it with an almost sacred reverence. As I have said often, our Being IS our knowledge. What we know, defines what we are.

I could go all mystical about this and point out there is clear scientific proof that the information field which a human can literally “imprint” itself on the environment. What we think, do and feel makes itself felt in the physical world, as well as our psychical inner. Therefore we have a vast responsibility for the knowledge and information we hold.

I’ll be sharing much more about this with you in the future. This website is all about knowledge. And speaking as a physician, knowledge is about the most healing thing I know. It’s the antibiotic that will cleanse the world and make it safe.

    Well Prof,

What has changed over the last 20 years or so?

It’s amazing how little we learn from History, or past happenings.
How will we evaluate today’s thoughts (as above) in 20 years from now??

    Just thinking aloud,

    Kurtb.

Go to YouTube and find Zeitgeist Addendum. It goes into this on a deeper level and offers a new way to structure society. The first four minutes are kind of slow, but it will be the best movie you’ve ever watched. It is a full length movie, so be prepared to invest a couple of hours watching it, and some time to think after.

This article helps me know I am not alone. Your wisdom is appreciated. All I have is the gut feeling which came with 72 years.

  • Richard says:

Turn off television for the next five years. After five years human neurons should grow healthier, individual critical thinking will return and the five year TV turn off will be extended. I really mean it, if humanity is to be saved and community strengthened chuck the media. That’s my one approach.

  • Anita Wald-Tuttle says:

I agree with Richard. I haven’t watched television since my husband died in June of 2005. I may have missed some events of history live, but eventually the important ones were brought to my attention by friends. My time is spent helping others in various healing and peaceful organizations. That coupled with reading thoughtful pieces such as this keeps my mind alert and my body active. Not bad at all for an 84 year old great grandmother!

If you haven’t heard of, or listened to any of David VanKoevering’s materials – I hightly recommend them. What Dr. Keith is talking about, I’ve been learning from David, too. A whole different way of thinking and seeing things. I like it!

  • Dee says:

Agree totally with this argument If only the young one could see the mind numbing aspects of their lives, as ours is almost at the end and they are the future.
